The Gem lock is commonly used on letterboxes and mailboxes; the gem lock is a suitable replacement for most cam locks, as well as adding more security. The problem with the Gem cam lock is that the cam or tail on the back of the lock needs to suit the same locking position on the original lock. Now there is a range of cams to suit the BDS Gem cam lock.
